Andrea Tecce Wins First-Ever 2011 WLMA Woman of The Year Award


WASHINGTON, D.C. (October 19, 2011) — The Women's Leadership & Mentoring Alliance (WLMA), is pleased to announce that Andrea Tecce as been awarded the prestigious, first-annual “Woman of the Year Award” by the WLMA.

 

A Managing Director of Navigant Consulting and Member of the Board of Advisors for WLMA, Ms. Tecce was recognized during WLMA’s Third Quarter D.C. event on September 14, 2011 at the Sewall-Belmont House & Museum, which was attended by more than 140 women from Washington D.C.’s professional community in support of women in leadership and the importance of mentoring throughout women’s personal and professional journeys.

Andrea S. Kramer to Receive Prestigious "Women With Vision" Award


CHICAGO (October 6, 2011) —  International law firm McDermott Will & Emery LLP is pleased to announce that the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois (“WBAI”) has named partner Andrea S. Kramer a recipient of its “2011 Women with Vision Awards.”  Ms. Kramer, who joins a distinguished list of past honorees that includes First Lady Michelle Obama, will be honored at the WBAI’s Joint Professional Dinner on November 3.

 

The Women with Vision Awards were first presented in 1997 by the WBAI to honor and recognize women who have demonstrated visionary approaches in their professional endeavors and who have made contributions to the well-being and empowerment of women. This annual event recognizes women from various professions who have excelled within and outside those chosen professions. Each of this year’s three honoree exemplifies the Joint Professional Dinner’s 2011 theme, “Lawyers First, Leaders Always.”

Elaine Metlin


Elaine Metlin, a WLMA leader, has been awarded the prestigious National Association of Women Judges' 2011 Florence K. Murray Award. The award is presented annually to a nominee who is not a judge, and who has, by example or otherwise, influenced women to pursue legal careers, opened doors for women attorneys, or advanced opportunities for  women within the legal profession. Ms.Metlin is a partner at Dickstein Shapiro LLP  and is a leader of the firm's Women's Leadership Initiative .
