About Our Founders and Advisors

In the fall of 2005, Julie Howard of Navigant Consulting, Andrea S. Kramer of McDermott Will & Emery and Laura Linger of William Blair & Company met at a Navigant Consulting women’s leadership conference. During the conference, they discussed a need for more opportunities to promote collaboration and championship among professional women. From that kernel of an idea, the Women’s Leadership & Mentoring Alliance was born. The three women pooled their contacts and within one month brought together a wide-ranging group of professional women. Today WLMA is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization with affiliated groups located in four regions across the country: East Coast, MidAtlantic, National/Midwest and West Coast.
