WLMA Holds First National Event, Helps Women Level the Workplace Advancement Playing Field
Women From Chicago, Los Angeles, New York and Washington D.C. Discuss Overcoming Gender Biases and Communication Differences
CHICAGO – February 10th, the Women’s Leadership & Mentoring Alliance (WLMA) held its first national event – bringing together more than 300 women from Chicago, Los Angeles, New York and Washington D.C. to learn about overcoming gender biases and communication differences that can hinder a woman’s success.
“Long-held stereotypical attitudes continue to deprive women of a level playing field in workplace advancement, professional advancement and client-development efforts,” said Andrea Kramer, the keynote presenter, WLMA cofounder, and Partner at McDermott, Will & Emery, LLP.
During her keynote held live by video conference, titled “Eliminating Workplace Bias by Understanding Gender Communications Differences,” Kramer also recommended techniques that women can adopt to maximize their effectiveness and professional growth potential.
WLMA, a 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2005, aims to help professional women advance at every stage of their lives and careers through leadership development and mentoring support.
